L&Z and Reebok Fitness Day

We have made the most of the last days of summer by sports gathering at Ada. Alongside great fitness instructors, we have been doing exercises, few of them as a group, few of them individually, and – we had a great time!

In mid-September, with the aim to use the Indian summer in the best possible way, in collaboration with Reebok, we organized Fitness Day at Ada. For this occasion, we turned an open-air part of the Red Shoes Café into a workout space. Reebok fitness instructor Dario Ćirić provided great deal of help, as well as another fitness instructor, Dragana Momić, and we did group exercises and individual exercises with requisites. Our Fitness Day gathered, among others, Reebok promoters Katarina Vučetić and Marina Kotevski, and Reebok Easy Tone Ambassador Daniela Grahovac.

For three years the face of Reebok Katarina Vučetić has been practicing yoga, and for her it feels good to join the workout with the standard group she is used to. However, she enjoys running alone, and she believes that in a gym it is always better to have individual workout. With great pleasure, she joined our “fitness gathering”. “One can always get valuable pieces of advice from people from Reebok and expert associates from your magazine, I always hear, I mean read, something that I have not known before. I am a sports type and I will always gladly accept to be a part of an event like this.”

Reebok Ambassador and TV presenter Marina Kotevski goes to the gym for individual workout on a regular basis, in order to keep fit. “I have to confess that during summer I have made a pause in exercising, because I do not enjoy physical activities when temperatures are high. That is why this Fitness Day comes as an excellent warming up. We hope to have the Indian summer, and thus I want to send a message to all ladies to use every nice day for workout outside, because when rainy days come – the gym will be there waiting for us.”

We were all impressed by moves by a fitness instructor Dragana Momić, who presented a choreography with her girls from Body Fit Studio. It was a combination of step aerobics, fit boxing on a stepper, Latino and zumba. “Step aerobics is what I recommend as the best way of doing exercises, because it involves muscles in the entire body. Furthermore, it is good for regulating your body weight. Also, I think it is nice to do exercises in a group, with music, and with a charismatic instructor. This group energy must carry everyone”, Dragana told us.

As a part of Dragana Momić’s Body Fit Studio there is also a children’s group. According to the studio owner, children do aerobe type of exercises, corrective gymnastics and stretching exercises. Above all, children should be inspired to take to sports, so that workout habits remain with them later. Step aerobics can start from the age of seven, because at that age children are able to remember the steps.

This is very important, because this type of exercises involves the brain, and steps should be memorized. Children who master this skill, later can get into dancing, without any problem. Also, stretching is a great workout for muscles and prepares the body for potential involvement in any other sport later, because it diminishes possibilities to suffer from muscle injuries.

Final of the Nivea Angel Star Casting for New Faces and Star of the JOY Fashion Editorial

At Delta City last night, in front of large audience, grand final of Nivea Angel Star contest for new faces was held. During March and April in all big Serbian towns, fashion studio “Click” and JOY magazine organized a huge selection for new faces – new modelling stars, which will embellish cover pages and editorials in magazines, walk along Fashion Week catwalks, appear in commercials, catalogues, music videos…

Jury, consisting of many eminent designers, journalists, editors of magazines with wide circulation, models, photographers, TV presenters and singers, had to decide which three finalists out of a total of twenty-eight deserved to bear the title of Nivea Angel Star faces.

Jury, comprised of Nenad Radujević, Suzana Perić, Irena Mišović, Marko Kon, Miša Obradović, Miloš Nadaždin, Sandra Perović, Boško Jakovljević, Marija Tarlać, Tamara Paunović and many others, had a very hard task to decide which girls were to expect fashion shows at Fashion Week, shooting the editorials and covers for JOY, professional contract with “Click” fashion studio, prize-cards by “Erste Bank” with 1000, 500 and 300 euros, and numerous surprise awards.

After the first appearance on the runway in front of large audience, wearing exclusive models created by designer Suzana Perić and brands “Maxers” and “Time Zone”, it was decided for the first three prizes to go to: Aleksandra Jotić-first position, Nataša Rankić-second place and Jelena Grkinić-third place.

Irrespective of prizes being won just by three out of twenty-eight contestants, it does not mean that the remaining twenty-five cannot expect sparkling modelling career, which was noticed through positive reactions by jury members, who found it hard to make a decision. One of jury members, designer Suzana Perić, whose dresses the girls were wearing, commented on her participation in last night’s final: “I am glad that I can contribute to choose the best one among all these beautiful girls. According to what was shown tonight, it seems to me that “beauty” is one of the most successful Serbian products!”

During breaks in jury voting, all guests were entertained by a talented and attractive singer Aleksandra Perović.

At Proactive Conference on Kozara Robert Čoban spoke about regional media stage in the crisis aftermath

Lecture delivered by Ksenija Renko on “Anti-corruption campaign”, as means of a solution to prevent corruption in countries belonging to the region, meant the opening of the 6th Proactive Conference on Kozara, where numerous experts in communication and media from the entire region gathered. Corruption is a harmful social phenomenon which undermines basic social values and causes lowering of income per capita.

The fact is that Bosnia-Herzegovina is a country with high level of corruption, according to many indicators, which points to the importance of raising awareness about the necessity of changes. As a wholesome introduction served a short report concerning corruption in Croatia, and in countries determined to deal with this problem. Anti-corruption steps and the most significant campaigns aimed at raising awareness of this issue were presented. Number of Internet users is growing steadily day after day, which opens plenty of new communication channels. The Internet offers a string of amazing tools which enable realization of strategic goals.

“Usage of new media in political communication” was a theme of the second lecture at Proactive, presented by Krunoslav Vidić. Last year being elective year in Croatia, the presentation focused on a pre-election campaign organized in Croatia. Campaigns for twelve candidates for the Croatian President were presented, and they were realized through mediation of social networks, Web pages and new media, whereas advice was offered on how to achieve best use of possibilities provided by the Internet.

Then Dragan Varagić spoke of “The way to distribute announcements through the Internet”, and the Conference participants could learn about the essence of an Internet service for distribution of announcements PRobjave.com which exists in Serbia for over a year, how to improve the position of announcements on the search engine, and how important is optimization of key words in announcements for better positioning on search engines. Also anticipated was the first Internet service for distribution of announcements in BiH PRobjave.ba. About significance and possibilities provided nowadays by online media spoke Marko Rakar, sharing with the attendants experiences garnered through creation and realization of an online campaign for Ivo Josipović, President of the Republic of Croatia.

The first step in the campaign was branding, and then tools which would serve for reaching the final objective were selected. In an elective year spirit, the first day of Proactive was successfully completed in a panel discussion regarding political communication in Bosnia-Herzegovina and the region. This discussion was led along by Miloš Đajić,
Srđan Puhalo, Marko Rakar, Krunoslav Vidić and Peđa Ašanin.

The second day kicked off with a lecture by Dubravka Jusić about “Communication in times of crisis”. Each company can be found in a crisis situation, and the case study of a solid crisis communication was presented.

Drenislav Žekić made a premiere presentation of the project “My response”, a Web page where it will be possible to denounce media announcements. “My response” will enable quick reaction and to present “the second side” to a story, therefore the visitors of a Web page will acquire objective image of the situation.

Miloš Đajić presented the project “Regional actions and cohesions in the environmental field”, sharing with the attendants his experiences garnered during realization of this project, as well as tactics used in order to accomplish previously formulated goals.

Božo Skoko spoke about the importance of image in public relations departments within companies, countries and governments on international level, and about their efficiency. Skoko claims that poor knowledge of a culture is one of the obstacles in international relations, and in creation of a PR strategy for clients alike. It is very important to assess quality of information publicized, and pay attention to stereotypes, history and experience, when influence on public opinion in other countries is intended. The image of the Balkans is still stereotypic, and thus it causes trouble to certain countries to stand out and improve the image.

In order to be able to communicate with others, it is necessary first to be able to communicate with yourself – this was the theme of Miloš Ćirić’s lecture.

High quality establishing of a two-way communication in business is possible when thoughts and plans are sensible and optimistic. PR crew gained many tips on how to ease their work, but also how to fulfill the objectives.

At the end of Proactive’s second day, attendants were delighted by Dr Feelgood’s energetic lecture concerning a healthy lifestyle and healthy diet.

President of “Color Press Group” Robert Čoban made in his presentation an intersection of popular magazines, worldly and regional ones, which had been put out due to bad business and decreasing budget, while he also presented his experiences in conducting business in years of crisis.

Eldina Knez spoke about European issues of significance for domestic public. With an example of introducing vignette in Slovenia, participants were presented pressure and obstacles, as well as ways of efficient communication with the public.

PRO PR Congress in the Island of Rab

On 21st of April, the island of Rab welcomed around one hundred PR experts, participants in “PRO PR Congress”, who, during the course of three days, exchanged their experiences and participated in workshops dominated by topic “Media relations”. One of the most visited workshops was a round table “PR in the eyes of publishers and editors in chief” which was participated by Jovan Terzic, Executive Editor of “Pobjeda” from Podgorica, Branko Pavlin, President of the Management of Slovenian “Dnevnik”, Gojko Drljaca, from Croatian “Vecernji list”, Igor Medic, Representative of portal www.business.hr, Vladimir Nisevic, Editor of the first business daily newspapers in Croatia named “Poslovni Dnevnik”, Mislav Simatovic, Editor in Chief of portal www.nacional.hr, Una Mesic, PR Manager of Sarajevo RSG Radio Station, Zarko Simovic, Director of Marketing of Novi sad Radio Station “021” and Milica Milic, Director of Corporate Communication “Color Press Group”.

A very dynamic discussion showed that the synergetic approach is the most important to everybody, to publishers, editors, journalists, PR managers, readers, listeners and viewers. While the editors complained mostly about their e-mail inboxes that are overloaded with useless PR messages, notifications that are not relevant for their media that is, area, the PR managers were of opinion that, sometimes, even the news of great public interest and importance are not in the limelight since the “paid PR” or hidden advertizing “push them into the backyard” and out of all columns and stories.

Some see the solution in the organization of interesting events when new products or company news can be presented/announced in a proper way. Zarko Simovic from radio station "021" thinks that it is very important for the media to stick to their editing policy and not give in under pressure for the purpose of keeping their audience, credibility and reputation. Most of the participants in the round table had the same conclusions. Thanks to the hospitality of the tourist office of Rab and despite the tight schedule, the Congress participants managed to explore this beautiful island and enjoy in the sun and the sea, boat rides, wines, cheese and spa centre “Padova” where they were accommodated.

Apart from the magnificent old town, what is also interesting is the claim of inhabitants of Rab that nudism has its roots in this area. There is a story saying that sometime in 1936, on one of the nearby islands, two of the most famous tourists who have visited the island so far, king Edward VIII and Wallis Simpson, took a swim in the sea completely naked. This story and many other interesting stories were told by the members of a crossbow club, who regularly participate in the middle-age summer festival “Rabska fjera” that attracts the greatest number of tourists in summer seasons.
